Perinatal Loss & Bereavement

Bereavement Bears

bearUnfortunately, some of our patients experience the loss of their much loved babies.

Many years ago, a couple who suffered the loss of their twins, donated some teddy bears to the Special Pregnancy Program, so that those who left the hospital empty handed had something to hold and cuddle at home when their arms ached to hold their own baby.

I have continued this legacy and try to ensure that those parents who need a bear to hug receive one before they go home. These bears are donated by staff, friends, and grateful recipients.
